Ever wondered about the challenges of a nighttime rescue? On Wednesday, September 11th, a hiker went missing in Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, sparking an intense multi-agency search. Bedford Police, Pound Ridge Fire Department, and Westchester County Police joined forces at 10 p.m. to find the hiker, whose phone had lost power. After searching for hours, first by utility vehicle and then on foot, rescuers located the missing person just after midnight by calling out and listening for a response. The hiker was found in good health and safely transported to an ambulance.
